About the artist
Born in 1959 in Meppen; lives and works in Berlin and Hamburg
Andreas Slominski works with seemingly absurd objects that reference everyday life. His most famous works include traps, and his most recent creations also reflect his interest in the ready-made. But their familiarity and ordinariness is both superficial and misleading. Slominskis works are not only found objects, but they sometimes also reveal an ingenious though laconic intervention that can result in disturbing undercurrents coming to light.
